Lauren: Creating the Invitations

You never really understand how important the invitations to your wedding are until your left trying to figure out all the details of the perfect invite. The most challenging part of creating your invitations generally is the fact that it’s the first piece of your wedding that your guests get to see, but most of all you want to make sure it ties in with the theme of your wedding. Going along with the colors of your wedding, fonts, floral prints, envelope thickness are all factors in creating the perfect look and feel of the invitation cards. Going into creating the invite, I was pretty prepared in knowing exactly what I wanted. Sticking with the rustic and natural flow of the wedding, I wanted to stick with natural colors with a vintage/rustic floral pattern for the inner envelope.

The only down side to choosing your invitation are that there are so many options! After choosing all of your patterns, paper texture and thickness, you want to figure out the best layout for your invitation to hold all the moving parts like your RSVP Cards, Directions Card, Reception Card and Accommodations Card. That’s a lot of information! Browsing through all the options, I thought a one-pocketed invitation would be the best bet. The invitation itself will hold the ceremony and reception information on one side, and then all the extra information will be sitting in its own pocket on the other side. So organized! I must say, being able to do-it-yourself with the wedding invitations is for sure the way to go! It has been so much fun creating something that you yourself picked out and creating yourself. Below you’ll see a photo of my color swatches!

Thank you for reading!
